We are a local campaign group in Chichester who would like to organise one Sunday a month when motor vehicle use is minimised/restricted within the city walls.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it
If you sign up as a supporter of the Car Free Chichester Campaign, we will keep a copy of your name, postcode and email address so that we can compile a list of supporters. We may provide a paper copy of the list to the Chichester City Council and/or the Chichester District Council to demonstrate the level of public support for a Car Free Day in Chichester. We will do our level best not to share these private details with anyone other than the local authorities or our campaign administrators. However being only a small local community action group and it is not possible to entirely guarantee against security breaches. We are currently investigating the GDPR implications of sharing your details with the local authorities. If you wish to withdraw your support please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to request the removal of your details and you will be removed from our list of supporters.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website (or share them with us in any other way), you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you sign up as a supporter of the Car Free Chichester Campaign using our on line form, we will use our server (provided by 1&1 and situated in Germany) to process your details and send them via unsecured/unencrypted email to our membership administrator. Please be aware that our on line form is in effect a way of sending your personal details to our membership administrator using unsecured email with all the security implication that this implies.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data
If you sign up as a supporter of the Car Free Chichester Campaign,we will retain your details until our campaign objectives are achieved or until you chose to withdraw registration of your support with the campaign.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data
If you sign up as a supporter of the Car Free Chichester Campaign, we add your details to our list of supporters and store the information in a spreadsheet. Our aim is to always secure the spreadsheet with a password when saving it. The spread sheet may be shared with other activists supporting the Car Free Chichester Campaign if they have a reasonable need for viewing the list (for example to check whether someone is already registered). Please be aware that currently have no process of vetting supporters who offer to help with our administration and you may wish to consider the implications of this before providing us with your personal details.
What data breach procedures we have in place
If we believe any member of our administration team is misusing private details from our supporters list we will immediately inform the local police.
